"I opened a book" by Julia Donaldson

If you visit the following link,  https://www.scottishpoetrylibrary.org.uk/sites/default/files/I_Opened_A_Book.pdf   you will find the poem " I opened a book " by Julia Donaldson. Julia Donaldson is the author of " Stick Man ", the book we have already worked on. Read the poem very carefully and find some secret messages. For example, try to answer the following questions: In what sense does the narrator leave everything behind? (3rd and 4th line, 1st verse?) What is the " cloak " (μανδύας) the author refers to in 2nd verse? Look at the 3rd verse which finishes " To the happily ever after ". How is this line related to fairy tales? Look at the last line in the 4th verse. How do we understand the value of reading through the last line in the poem " But I have a book inside me ."

"Saw my Teacher on a Saturday"

http://www.poetryminute.org/saw-my-teacher-on-a-saturday-by-dave-crawley/ Take a look at this wonderful poem by Dave Crawley. It shows that teachers are normal people, just like everybody. They go out and do the shopping, they don't always stay at home correcting papers. How would you feel if you saw your teacher on a Saturday? Would you be happy? What would you say to him/her? Compare your feelings to the narrator's.
