Geronimo Stilton is an Italian children's book series published by Edizioni Piemme of Milan, Italy, since 2000. Scholastic Corporation has published the English version of the series since February 2004. Although the series credits its title character as the author, the idea was originally thought of by Elisabetta Dami.[1] On older novels, the copyright is issued to a pseudonym "Geronimo Stilton"; this was changed on newer books. I didn't know Geronimo Stilton, until I was introduced to him by one of my students who wrote a summary about one of the books that feature him, called “Journey to the Fantasy Kingdom”. Now, I can realize why children get so excited over this cunning, smart, little mouse.

"Saw my Teacher on a Saturday"

"I opened a book" by Julia Donaldson

Julia Donaldson is the author of " Stick Man ", the book we have already worked on. Read the poem very carefully and find some secret messages. For example, try to answer the following questions: In what sense does the narrator leave everything behind? (3rd and 4th line, 1st verse?) What is the " cloak " (μανδύας) the author refers to in 2nd verse? Look at the 3rd verse which finishes " To the happily ever after ". How is this line related to fairy tales? Look at the last line in the 4th verse. How do we understand the value of reading through the last line in the poem " But I have a book inside me ."
